I have mapped precinct-level, municipality-level, and county-level results for many different types of elections, including presidential, senatorial, gubernatorial, and state legislative, as well as for initiatives and referenda in several different states. My mapmaking program of choice is usually QGIS, however I have also made maps using ESRI’s ArcMap. In addition, I have experience using R to manipulate and make charts and graphs of data. My sources for the election data are state and/or county election agencies.
